The Spalding and District Snooker League’s only remaining unbeaten record was extended on Thursday night as Division One leaders Pyramid B made it nine wins from as many games this season.
Table-topping Pyramid were 5-1 winners at Deepings side Boundary B in a game that saw Jason Green (O63) make a 32 break and 25 clearance, while team-mate Dave Pearson (O7) also managed a 22 finish.
The Bourne side are now three points clear at the top following Holbeach A’s 4-2 home loss against Services F.
A 21 break from Jack Chilvers (O28) was the highlight for the Spalding side, who sealed their win in the penultimate frame thanks to Stephen Holstead (O35).
Third-placed Bourne SC A were also handed a 4-2 reverse at Donington C, in a game that saw the home side’s Neil Reynolds (O49) make a majestic 41 clearance.
To complete a miserable week for the chasing place, Services E went down 5-1 at Spalding rivals Tulips B.
Fourth at the start of play, Services were on the receiving end of a 20 break from Mark Woodberry (O56), too.
Elsewhere in the top flight, a fine 43 break from Bren Bowman (O56) helped Tulips A pick up a 4-2 victory at Holbeach D.
Down in Division Two, leaders Consti G were 5-1 winners over Boundary A and are now six points clear at the summit.
Behind them, Services A lost a point on the pace-setters after edging to a 4-2 success over Crowland A.
Pete Mullane’s (O21) 21 break was the highlight in that one.
Also 4-2 winners were Pyramid C in third. They shaded a tight tussle with Consti I, with Jeremy Radford (scr) pipping Richard Geddes (R14) in the final frame.
Meanwhile, there were a spree of fine breaks in Boundary C’s 5-1 triumph at Holbeach B.
Leading the way was Holbeach’s Neil Harvey (O14), who managed a 38 in his frame win. Also impressing were Boundary’s Daz King (O7) and
Shaun Ketteringham (O21), who both reeled off breaks of 32.
However, the big winners of the week were Consti B, who battered Gosberton A 6-0 thanks to frame wins from John Christian (R7), Mick Johnson (O28), John Christian (R7), Martin Fear (scr) and John Keeton (O7).
In Division Three, Donington B took over at the top after beating Gosberton D 6-0, Phil Burrell (R7) making a 20 break.
At the other end of the table, basement side Services D won again as they saw off Consti D 4-2. Karen Howlett’s (R14) final frame win got the job done for them.
Also victorious were fellow strugglers Gosberton C, who defeated Whittlesey B 4-2.
Again, this one went to the last frame – with Stuart Tamplin (R7) the hero for Gosberton.
