Snooker round-up: Nice and three-sy for leading pair Services C and Consti E, Jennings makes impressive break

Both Services C and Consti E boast 100 per cent records after three games in Spalding and District Snooker League Division One after victories on Thursday night.

The duo are locked together on 14 points after securing 4-2 wins, with Services seeing off Sutton Bridge A and Consti getting the better of Services A.

Mark Spiller (scr), Jordan Philpott (R14) and Nigel Cherry (O7) were on winning form for Services C, despite a 36 break from Bridge’s Shane Balding (O56).

Consti E’s win was tighther, with Martin Anderson (O7) sealing the success in the final frame.

Mike Knight (O28) also starred in that showdown, making a 39 break for defeated Services A.

Elsewhere in the top tier, Wayne Dent (O42) made a 25 clearance, Stuart Atkin (O56) sank a 29 break and Mat Smith (O35) managed a 34 break as Holbeach A defeated Holbeach D 4-2.

There was also an incredibly tight tussle as Pyramid D edged out hosts Bourne SC A 4-2.

Two of the five frames finished on a re-spotted black, including the last one as Josh Agger (O7) pipped Oliver Player (O35).

It was an easier day at the office for Bourne SC B as they defeated Boundary A 5-1, with Nick Cunnington (O14) sinking a 23 break.

In Division Two, Services D are the only side with three wins under their belt.

They got the better of Consti G 4-2, with Kev Tyler (R7), Jake Haslam (scr) and Courtney Boulding (R21) all on winning form.

Two players made 30 breaks at this level, with Jason Rose (O28), who also made a 22 clearance, making the score in Services B’s triumph at Gosberton A.

Lester Gaunt (O56) also managed a 30 as his Pyramid B team squeezed past Donington A 4-2.

Meanwhile, Consti B enjoyed a 5-1 victory over club mates Consti I in a win sealed by Martin Fear (scr).

Down in Division Three, it’s Whittlesey C who boast three wins from as many games after a 4-2 home win over Gosberton C.

The break of the week came at this level, with Steve Jennings (O28) sinking a super 52 in Whittlesey A’s 5-1 win over friendly foes Whittlesey B.

Dougie Lythgoe (O21) also starred with a 39 break, but his Boundary B side were beaten 4-2 at home by Gosberton D.

Picking up five points were Consti J, who handsomely saw off hosts Donington B 5-1 with Les Andrews (R7) notching a 20 break.

Consti A were also winners, beating Consti D 4-2 despite Martin Perkins’ (O21) 23 break.
