Long Sutton’s Men’s Shed group has received a lockdown boost.
The group which aims to provide a place for men suffering from loneliness or isolation is continuing to call on its members during the lockdown and working to expand when its sessions are allowed to reopen.
It’s been boosted by a £1,000 grant from Lincolnshire County Council’s COVID-19 Community Fund.
The cause was championed by Coun Chris Brewis who attended a socially distanced cheque presentation last week.
Men’s Shed treasurer Frank Heinrich-Jones, said: “Coun Brewis thanked the shed members for our efforts to help our local community during the coronavirus pandemic adding that he is impressed by the way the Shed gives years of dedicated work and reduces loneliness.
“The Shed are just embarking on an ambitious expansion project to house the ever-increasing membership and the Lincolnshire County Council £1,000 award will significantly assist the Shed at this time.
“The Men’s Shed are very grateful to Lincolnshire County Councillor Chris Brewis who championed the Shed award from the COVID-19 Community Fund Scheme.”
