Sharpshooters hit the target for Poppy Appeal

A clay pigeon shooting event hit the target for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal after raising more than £2,000.

The Britforce Masters event was held at Sinclairs Shooting Ground at Whaplode Drove and organised by Oliver Bird and Alan Sheppard.

Several dozen shooters from near and far competed for prizes ranging from a new Webley Scott shotgun to shooting accessories.

Raffle prizes included gift vouchers and boxes of cartridges. The event raised £2,140 for the Poppy Appeal.

The weather was ideal for most of the day, although heavy rain later caught out a few competitors.
