Depleted Pinchbeck United face something of a selection crisis ahead of Saturday’s trip to Rothwell Corinthians (3pm).
The Knights, who sit 18th in the Uhlsport UCL Premier Division table after nine games, have Niall Hylton, Nathan Kelly and Tony Edwards suspended for the game at Sargeants Lawn following their recent red cards at Boston Town.
That leaves player/boss Ian Dunn is also without a recognised left back following Callum Wilson’s injury, meaning Pinchbeck will be massive underdogs against a Rothwell side that are three points ahead of them in 15th place.
Dunn said: “It’s another tough game for us; Rothwell may not be flying high, but they’re always strong at home.
“It’s the kind of game I’d usually be happy to take a point from, but we’ll obviously go there and try to find a way to win if we possibly can.
“We’ll be a bit patched up with the three lads suspended and, at the moment, I don’t really have an option at left back.
“We’ll look to get a few players in before the game if we possibly can, but it’s not like last season when we were capable of getting recognised UCL lads in.
“We’re still a work in progress and, although the results haven’t been going our way, nobody has been thrashing us.”
Pinchbeck, who also face a very tough trip to Deeping Rangers on Tuesday night (7.45pm), hope to welcome back skipper Tyrone Burton at Rothwell after he missed Saturday’s FA Vase loss.
