Second quarter proves key as Spalding Water Polo see off rivals Bedford

Spalding Water Polo beat Bedford 10-5 in their latest Herts League match.

The sides were evenly matched in the first quarter, scoring two goals each.

Spalding’s scorers were Ed Martin and Gareth Lord.

After an early goal from Bedford at the beginning of the second quarter, Spalding began to take control of the match and goals from Ben Marsters, Jimmy Hook and Martin gave them a 5-3 lead at half time.

Spalding further extended their lead in the third quarter thanks to goals from Martin, Hook and Marsters – taking the score to 8-3 in their favour.

The final quarter again saw both teams netting twice, Marsters scoring another two goals to seal Spalding’s 10-5 win.
