Saturday football: Spalding and Pinchbeck both beaten again, Holbeach game abandoned due to rain

Spalding United suffered a sixth defeat in as many games as they went down 2-0 at Worksop Town on Saturday, while Pinchbeck United were thumped at home and Holbeach United saw their game at Shepshed Dynamo abandoned.

In the Pitching In NPL South East Division, goals from Lewis Gibbens (35) and Gavin Allott (57 pen) saw the Tulips beaten again.

The managerless side, who topped the table after two games, are now down in 17th in the table after seven games.

In the ChromaSport UCL Premier DIvision, Pinchbeck remain winless after a second-half collapse against Cogenhoe United.

After a goalless first half, Cogenhoe netted through Nat Ansu (61), Archie Culley (72), Will Russell (73) and Jordan Orosz (75) at the Sir Halley.

The loss leaves Pinchbeck joint bottom in the standings.

In the same division, Holbeach were spared an almost certain defeat when the referee abandoned their game at Shepshed Dynamo on 72 minutes.

The Tigers were 2-0 down, but the officials deemed the pitch waterlogged.

In the PDFL Premier Division, Moulton Harrox thrashed Oakham 8-1 to make it five wins from five, while Long Sutton beat ICA Sports 1-0 and Holbeach Reserves held leaders Stilton 2-2.

Crowland Town lost 1-0 at Cardea, though.
