A Jordan Macleod hat-trick helped Spalding United beat Belper Town 3-2 in the FA Trophy on Saturday, but both Pinchbeck United and Holbeach United suffered heavy league losses.
Starting at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field, Spalding won an absolute classic to book their place in the next round of the FA Trophy.
Macleod twice gave the Tulips the lead (5 and 59), only for Danny South to hit back with a brace of his own (30 and 76).
However, Macleod netted the winner four minutes from time to secure Spalding’s progress and bank £2,250 in FA prize money.
It was grim going for the South Holland sides in the Uhlsport UCL Premier Division North, though.
Pinchbeck were thrashed 7-0 at Long Eaton United, while Holbeach went down 3-0 at home to Eastwood and remain winless.
Phil Barnes remained in charge of the Tigers despite resigning last week, with no new boss in place.
