Royal welcome for new greens keeper

Sutton Bridge Golf Club has a new Royal appointment

The club has employed a freshly qualified new green keeper in Nick Royal.
He completed his apprenticeship at Sutton Green golf club in Hertfordshire.

A spokesman for the club said: “Nick has impressed all with his approach to the challenge, working with Andrew Norton, who has been a green keeper at the club for over 50 years and his experience cannot be overstated.

“The two green keepers are working well together to give the club a mix of new ideas and experience.

“Greens committee chairman Richard Wright member at the club since 1974 said the improvement on the course is really making a difference with improved drainage with some greens re-turfed, and professional sand in the bunkers.

“The greens are also running very well as is the driving range.

“All in all the club is feeling buoyant about the future with our green staff and the many loyal volunteers working tirelessly for the benefit of the club.

“With the easing of lockdown the golf club can now welcome pay and play and of course membership is available.”
