Rotary Ball helps inflate charities coffers

The generous folk at the Rotary Club of Spalding and Welland made presentations to two local charities last week.

At its latest meeting at the South Holland Centre it donated £1,800 to both Marie Curie and Thorpe Hall, the Sue Ryder Foundation’s hospice in Peterborough.

Both charities have worked and helped the relatives of club members.

The money was raised at the Rotary Club’s hugely successful Two Lips Ball held earlier this year at the Springfields Events Centre in Spalding.

A spokeman for the Rotary Club of Spalding and Welland said: “I would like to reiterate our grateful thanks to all sponsors and supporters for their magnificent help in raising funds for such worthwhile local causes.”

The club’s members and guests enjoyed a meal on the evening and they were also given a talk on the work of the charity Disaster Aid.
