The RFU has unveiled its roadmap to get rugby playing again with all ages able to train from March 29.
And it’s aiming for full contact games to be able to take place from June.
The likes of Spalding Rugby Club haven’t had a competitive fixture in over a year with the sport having been particularly hard hit by COVID-19 restrictions.
As of March 29, community rugby clubs may hold contact training sessions, excluding scrums and mauls, and host Ready4Rugby, O2 Touch and Tag rugby matches between clubs.
After four weeks of contact training, matches with adapted laws (no scrums or mauls) will be permitted from April 26.
Full contact training and matches will depend on government restrictions, but the RFU says it hopes that will be by June.
The junior rugby season is due to end on May 31, however the RFU says it will suspend out of season regulations for 2021 and they will be replaced with a range of permitted non-contact and contact training and playing to allow teams to play more games.
