Moulton Harrox got back to winning ways with a 2-1 ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division success over Langtoft United on Saturday.
An own goal and a Ben Allen effort ensured that Harrox put the previous weekend’s 3-2 cup defeat at Netherton United behind them – and cemented their third place position in the table.
Harrox are seven points behind leaders Peterborough Sports and will look to apply some pressure by beating Sawtry at home on Saturday (2pm).
Harrox: Kenealy, Groves, Bailey-Smith, Coddington, Watkin, McGuire, King, Cawthorne, Townsend, Allen, Parry. Subs used: Farrell, Woods. Not used: N Steadman.
- Moulton Harrox Reserves remain on course for an unbeaten season in PDFL Division One after a fine 5-3 victory over hosts Warboys Town on Saturday.
Jon Ball’s penalty and a Martin Sandall strike put Kev Nottingham’s side 2-0 up at half-time, but Warboys pegged them back to 2-2.
However, a Bobby Patterson header and further strikes from Steve Sinfield and Declan Earth secured the win for Harrox, before a late consolation completed the scoring.
Moulton have now won 22 of their 23 games, drawing the other. As things stand, four wins from their last seven matches will seal the title.
- Goals from Jack Smith (2), Jonny Allen, Gary Booth, James Ward and Tom Bates gave Holbeach United Reserves a 6-1 home win over Uppingham Town in the PDFL Premier Division on Saturday.
Crowland Town drew 0-0 at Wisbech Town Reserves.
