Reigning champions licked by strugglers

Royal Mail Cart came up with a special delivery to shock Rose & Crown C in the Spalding & District League. Last season’s Division Two champions had struggled this season but beat the reigning league and Supreme Cup champions. Cart started well and went 2-1 up in the pairs but Logan Goddard disposed of Jacob Herd with the help of a 180 to level the scores. Paul Faulkner made it 3-2 to the Cart with his own maximum but again Crown levelled thanks to Ant Richardson. Stu Page, Steve Rawding and Harry Faulkner sealed victory. Charlie Rawding hit a 180 in his win.
Consti E’s bad run continued with a 5-4 defeat to Rose & Crown A. Consti led 2-1 after the pairs and Ash Allen beat Dan Carnell with the help of two 18-dart legs but three wins on the bounce put Crown in the lead before Mark Dixon made it a last-game decider. Ian Lawson beat Dan Gent to get the points, hitting six 100-pluses while Gent hit five.
There was a 6-3 win for Consti A against Drayman’s A. Consti fired into a 2-1 lead and Jack Chilvers stretched it to 3-1 with a 113 checkout and 17 and 18-dart legs. Sam Roberts moved the Consti closer to victory but Josh Higgins beat Andy Bingham to close the gap thanks to a 14-dart leg. Chris Fidler stepped up to seal the points thanks to 17 and 18-dart legs and two 180s. Nick Moyses stretched the lead before James Hogetts won for Drayman’s.
Drayman’s B remain top of Division Two, even though they lost 5-4 to Green Dragon A. Dragon went 2-1 up in the pairs and then wins for Adam Rear, Mick Holstead and Finn Mottram sealed victory. Mottram had a 102 checkout.
Consti D remain on the heels of the leaders after a 6-3 win against Riverside. Consti won all the pairs and Jonny Robinson stretched their lead. The points were sealed when John Robinson and Ady Smith won their games. Smith hit a maximum 180 and had a 15-dart leg with Colin Beckett. He also hit a 100 checkout. Highlight for Riverside was Jonny Pell’s 152 checkout.
Ship Long Sutton had a 7-2 win against Drayman’s C with Zach Chapman scoring two maximums. Connor Newton checked out on 113 for Drayman’s.
Holbeach Services A beat Rose & Crown B 5-4. Crown won two of the pairs and then wins for Chris Chamberlain and Mike Ocock put them clear. Richard Arnold, Pete Griggs and George Gaunt set up a last-game shootout between Stu Stephens and Ian McCreery with Stephens coming out on top 2-1. Earlier Stephens and Chamberlain had a 16-dart leg in their pairs.
Pinchbeck kept up their 100% record in Division Three by beating Moulton Harrox 8-1. Tom Elderkin had a 100 checkout and Connor McKenzie hit an 18-dart leg. Dan Wright won for Harrox.
Services won 5-4 against Mulberry’s. After winning two pairs, wins following for Michael Baker, Jamie McHugh and Ryan Munton, the match was sealed with two to play.
Drayman’s D remain top but lost to Green Dragon B 7-2. Drayman’s wins were the third pairs and fifth singles games, thanks to Josh Burton.
Lincoln Arms beat Pied Calf 8-1, winning all three pairs and the first five singles. James Racey was the only Pied winner. Lincoln’s Vlad Fomkinas had an 18-dart leg.
