Reep-ing his reward

Eighty runners beat the freeze to take to the Snowden Field Parkrun in Crowland on Saturday.

The weekly 5K run saw Wellingborough & District athlete Jonny Reep cross the line first in 17mins 30 secs. First home for Halmer Harriers was Richard Williams, who was eighth in 23:03. Other runners from the Spalding-based club were: Adam Caress, 14th, 24:57; Simon Eldridge, 29th, 27:33; Rebecca Pearce, 52nd, 32:36; and Debs Norman, 53rd, 33:25. A run was also held on New Year’s Day, with Caress fourth of 49 runners in 22:21.
Four other Harriers were in action at the Ferry Meadows Parkrun in Peterborough at the weekend. Janet Strickland was 305th of the 558 finishers, in 30:28, with Deborah Preston 313th, 30:41; Jayne Pell 478th, 37:54; and Kathryn Chapman 502nd, 40:55.
