This summer, children aged from four to 11 can visit Spalding Library to join a superstar team, their marvellous mascots and to get involved in a free Summer Reading Challenge themed around the power of play, sport, games and physical activity.
Through taking part in the challenge, with free materials at the library and online, children will be encouraged to keep their minds and bodies active over the summer.
The characters, brought to life by children’s author and illustrator Loretta Schauer, navigate a fictional summer obstacle course and track their reading as they go.
Children taking part in the challenge will receive prizes for every two books read and a certificate and medal for completing the challenge.
By participating in the challenge children will have the chance to explore new reading material, develop skills, and discover new interests.
