Rainbows and coins

Queens birthday coins

Children at Pinchbeck East Primary School celebrated two special occasions recently.

The children created a whole school rainbow to celebrate the Recognition of Commitment to becoming a Unicef Rights Respecting School. The programme aims to put children’s rights at the heart of schools.

Teeny Vayro, head of school, said: “We have a steering group of children and adults from the school and wider community who work together to develop an understanding of the Convention of Children’s Rights and we are at the beginning of a journey to become a Rights Respecting School.

“Each class dressed in a rainbow colour and the children gave a donation to support UNICEF, raising £245.”

To celebrate Queen Elizabeth ll’s 90th birthday every child was presented with a commemorative coin purchased by Pinchbeck Parish Council. Pictured with the children (below) are county councillor Elizabeth Sneath and parish councillors Sally Sneath, Richard Dobbs and Douglas Dickens.
