Pulling forced to settle for fifth in Hungary as she slips to fourth in W Series standings

Abbi Pulling slipped down to fourth in the W Series driver standings after finishing fifth in Hungary on Saturday.

Gosberton speedster Pulling qualified sixth for round five of the series at the Hungaroring, with her mentor Alice Powell claiming pole position.

Pulling was always looking to move through the field during the 30-minute plus one lap race, but couldn’t find a way past Marta Garcia and was forced to settle for ten points and fifth place.

The race was won by Powell, who held off the charging series leader Jamie Chadwick to end her run of winning every race so far this season.

Powell’s success moves her up to second in the standings, with Beitske Visser, who finished third, also moving into third place in the championship.

There is now a summer break before the next round at Singapore in September.
