Pride ‘heroes’ set to be honoured at ceremony

Winners of this year’s Pride of South Holland Awards will be crowned on Saturday.

It is the second year of the awards run by the Spalding and South Holland Voice and Tulip Radio and the standard of entries has been phenomenally high.
We have been looking for those people across South Holland who go the extra mile to make their communities a better place to live.
A “mystery” celebrity will take to the stage at Spalding’s South Holland Centre to hand out trophies and certificates in eight categories – caring neighbour, service with a smile, young achiever, senior citizen, charity worker, community hero, volunteer and special achievement.
The event starts at 3pm and guests can expect a feast of entertainment.
Each category has been generously sponsored by a local business or individual and the winners and runners-up have now been chosen.
For a full round-up of the event, including the 2016 winners, see next week’s paper.
