Power fund helps footballers

Sutton Bridge United boasts new goal posts and a spray line marker thanks to the Power Fund.

Club chairman David Earth said the new goal posts were a boon as they could be taken down and stored securely.

The new line marker will save a lot of time when preparing the pitch.

The £2,000 grant was made by the Sutton Bridge Power Fund which is accepting applications for grants of up to that amount.

It provides financial help in the area of the power station, including Sutton Bridge, Tydd St Mary, Walple Cross Keys and the Walpoles.

The power station, on Centenary Way, has been mothballed. It was built in 1999 costing £337m.
