Parts of Sheep Market in Spalding are cordoned off after reports of an incident involving a gun.
Police were called after reports a man was threatening people with a gun shortly after1.15pm this afternoon (Thursday, September 29).
A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm that was recovered at the scene.
There were no serious injuries, polie said.
One eye-witness said they had seen a man come out of the Nasza Biendronka store on the corner with The Crescent with what looked like a gun.
Gemma Holloway was working in the Airbrushed Aesthetics store next door and alerted the police to the incident.
She said: “I was sat doing someone’s nails and looked up and saw men fighting and then thought ‘that’s a gun’ one of them had.
“There was a baby at the front window of the shop so we moved that into the back then rang the police.
“It looked like one of the men was an absolute hero and held the man with the gun down after taking it off him.
“Afterwards the person who had the gun didn’t run away from the police. He just wanted the gun back and kept asking for it.”
A spokesman from Lincolnshire Police, said: “Officers were called at 1.16pm to Sheep Market in Spalding after a report of a man who was making threats with what appeared to be a firearm.
“A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm. A weapon was recovered and there were no serious injuries.”
