Police investigating spate of tool thefts in the Suttons

South Holland Police are investigating three thefts of gardening equipment in the Suttons area.

In the latest incident lawnmowers and strimmers were stolen from a workshop on Hospital Road in Sutton Bridge which occurred at some point overnight on June 25 to 26.

It follows two other incidents.

This first incident, at Sutton Bridge Golf Club, happened at some point overnight on June 21 and 22.

An outbuilding was broken into and a John Deere Gator was taken along with three chainsaws and a petrol strimmer.  

The second incident, at Long Sutton Cricket Club, happened the following night on June 22 and 23.

Padlocks were cut in order to break into a garage. A petrol strimmer, air blower and two spreaders (lawn mower attachments) were taken, along with a tool box and a grass raking machine.

The cricket club have since launched an appeal to help replace the items.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said: “Due to the proximity and the methods used by the offenders, we believe these incidents may be linked.
