Pinchbeck Carnival was blessed with brilliant summer weather and plenty of people for its weekend of celebration.

A record number of people attended the carnival parade which was led by the village’s Royalty float.
Carnival Queen Sian Groves and Princesses Bella Parker and Sophie Bolton led the way and The Breaston Highlanders provided the music.
The first Pinchbeck Brownies won the float and walking entry competition with their nursery rhyme entry.
Pinchbeck East Primary School came second and the guides and rainbows took joint third honours.
Arena displays included flights by Ye Olde Redtail Falconry Display and the Lincs Dog Display team.
Members of he Diamondz School of Dance and the Kuk Sool Won martial arts school also put on demonstrations to entertain the crowds.
A historic Lancaster Bomber from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight gave a low flypast during the afternoon.
The winners of the best stall competition were The Dogs Trust with Friends of St Gilbert’s second and Pinchbeck Rainbows were third.
Entries for the craft and cooking competitions were on display in the marquee. Florence Wilson won the Jean Russell Memorial Trophy for the best over all children’s entry and Ken Liquorish won the WI salver for the best adult entry.
“I would like to thank all the local businesses who provided prizes for the raffle, plus fruit, plants and flowers for our stall and meat for the lunch,” said Chris Schofield, chairman of the carnival committee.
“Also thank you to the carnival committee and helpers for their time and effort and support throughout the year.
“I believe we have done the village proud.”
There was also a Saturday evening music and quiz night with Dave Mustoe.
A good congregation also attended a combined church service which was held in the marquee on Sunday morning in celebration of the carnival weekend.
