A week after the village marked a 70th anniversary, Pinchbeck will be partying for a 40th celebration.
The annual Pinchbeck Carnival is back with a theme of ‘Remembering the 40s’ as it celebrates it’s 40th year.
The weekend begins on Friday, June 10 with the annual bingo night which will be held at Pinchbeck Church Hall. Doors open at 6.30pm for eyes down at 7pm.
On Saturday, the carnival will take place at the new venue of The Glebe Field, which is behind the Community Hub and Library in Knight Street.
The event starts at 12 noon with a parade of classic cars and tractors. Entry is free.
Take your own chairs, tables and gazebos. There is limited parking for blue badge holders only on the playground at the rear of The Hub.
The Blighty Belles and Diamondz School of Dance will be performing.
Previous Carnival Queens and their attendants from the past 40 years are being asked to go along to assemble at the stage area at 3pm for a grand reunion.
There are also children’s rides, games, bouncy castles, stalls, refreshments and a licensed bar.
There will be a handicrafts competition for both children and adults which includes cookery and photographic categories.
On Sunday, to draw the celebrations to a close there will be a Sunday lunch in Pinchbeck Village Hall.
Tickets are £7.50 and need to be purchased in advance from Chris who can be contacted on 01775 680444.

Tulip Talk with Jan Whitbourn
This Saturday (June 12) Pinchbeck Carnival will take place on the Glebe Field in Pinchbeck, the committee are hoping for a big turnout.
This event has grown so much over the years and it is good to see so many volunteers who want to make it a success for the community.
If ever you were looking for a definition of a community event in South Lincolnshire, this is it.
The carnival has always been well supported and many make a special journey to enjoy a varied day and to see the performers in the ring, including the Diamondz Dance team.
There are many charity stalls and others generating money by selling items all for local good causes.
The aim of the event is to try and help voluntary organisations in the village and to carry on with the carnival next year.
There will be several ring events as well as the usual traditional ones.
The parade works its way around the village from 12pm before finishing in the field with the traditional Carnival Queen, the tractor run and not forgetting the wonderful classic cars for us all to see.
I am, as always, delighted to be able to compere the event which will include this year, talking to the previous carnival queens from years gone by.
At 3pm on the day of the carnival we would like all the past Carnival Queens and attendants, from 1982, to gather near the stage.
We would like to chat to you on the stage about your experiences and what that year meant to you.
We have been asking for all these people to contact us on the Pinchbeck Carnival Facebook page to let us know you are coming.
Any previous queens can contact us there or email [email protected] or call 07779 895388.
We would like to stress that there is only parking for blue badge holders on the field.
Please don’t come onto the field with your car; parking must be around the village.
Sunday always sees a traditional church service followed by a lunch in the marquee and a quiz by quizmaster John.
It all starts with the usual bingo night on Friday evening.
A fantastic event and fun for all the family, if you would like to be part of the event, give me a call on 07779 895388 or email [email protected] and I’ll make sure to pass on your details to the committee who work so hard every year to make this event the success that it always is.
