Pilbeam at the double twice for Tigers

A solid start to the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League season continued for Holbeach United with two four-goal blasts.
Wednesday’s 4-2 League Cup win at Parson Drove was followed by a 4-1 home league win against Needham Market u23s to leave the Tigers one place and one point outside the play-off zone in Division One North, with games in hand over the teams above them.
Connor Pilbeam (2), George Frost and Jack Prentice put the hosts 4-0 up before the Suffolk side grabbed a late consolation.
Pilbeam had also got two at Parson Drove, to go with efforts from Harvey Robertson and Ryan Cook after the hosts twice hit back from behind to level.
Pilbeam has now scored seven times in his last four games and has nine for the season.
The Tigers had a swift home rematch with near neighbours Parson Drove last night (Wednesday) in the league before a trip to the coast on Saturday at Great Yarmouth Town.
Tigers at Parson Drove: Rigby, Robertson, Cook, Compton, Ling, Harris, Yambasu, Barnes, Pilbeam, Hoyle, Johnson. Subs: Frost, Coote, Wirkowski.
Attendance: 160.
Tigers v Needham: Rigby, Robertson, Cook, Oldham, Ling, Harris (Hoyle), Wirkowski (Coote), Barnes, Pilbeam, Prentice (Johnson), Frost (Yambasu).
