Pete’s fab four fish help seal win at latest Tydd Gote Angling Club contest

It was slightly less windy for the latest Tydd Gote Angling Club Sunday match at Main Road – but there were still gusts up to 40mph for the anglers to contend with.

For those braving the weather it was a match of two halves.

Pete Emery and Andrew Kilby were on the two downstream end pegs and both fancied a tench or two might show and so it turned out as Emery landed four good fish to worm and along with a few silvers put 18lb 10oz on the scales for his win.

Kilby managed two big tench, the best 5lb 14oz, along with a few smaller fish for his second placed 12lb 4oz.

At the other end of the match, with tench unlikely to show, Steve Borrett and Dennis Houghton concentrated on small fish with Borrett just taking third with 6lb 2oz of roach and rudd to pinkie with Houghton having over 200 fish for his level 6lb and fourth.

Wednesday Open: 1st Archie Greenwood 6lb 5oz; 2nd Dennis Houghton 5lb 10oz; 3rd Don Green 2lb 14oz.
