Pete is the Main man again at Tydd Gote Angling Club’s Sunday showdown

Pete Emery is the angler to beat on the North Level at Main Road at the moment and followed up his win in the Wednesday Open with a stellar performance to take the Sunday club match with an excellent 22lb 4oz of quality rudd and perch.

Fishing waggler, whip and long pole from the concrete Emery amassed an impressive net of fish to maggot, pinkie and worm.

Andrew Kilby was on end peg six and left it late to snare two tench in the last 20 minutes to go with his silvers for 9lb 4oz and second place, just in front of Steve Borrett’s 8lb 11oz of small roach and rudd to pinkie and maggot from the first half peg above the bridge.

John Bates was fourth with 6lb 1oz from peg five that included a good tench on the feeder early on and topped up with small silvers.

Wednesday Open (Main Road) result: 1st Pete Emery 11lb 4oz; 2nd Don Green 9lb 10oz; 3rd John Taylor 7lb 3oz.
