Stand-in Moulton Harrox keeper Brendan Taylor saved four penalties in a shoot-out as they edged past Hykeham Town in the Lincs FA Junior Cup on Saturday.
A smart turn and shot from Ian Bradbury fired Harrox ahead midway through the first period, but a red card to Phil Groves meant their task to hold on was a tough one.
The away side, unbeaten in their league, levelled three minutes from time to force an additional period.
Kev Nottingham’s Moulton went back ahead through Declan Earth in the first period of extra time, but Hykeham again hit back to force penalties.
Harrox won that shoot-out 5-4, with Taylor the hero.
Also in the hat for the next round are Crowland Town, who crushed Fishtoft 9-0 at Snowden Field.
Their goals came from Harry Grigas (3), Ethan Allen (2), Danny Firth, Peter Fox, Jamie Beeken and Reece Crane.
In the ChromaSport PDFL Premier DIvision, Long Sutton Athletic picked up a fantastic 3-2 win over ChromaSport PDFL leaders Uppingham Town at London Road.
Matt Eaton (2) and Jake Lally fired the Magpies to perhaps the result of the day.
Also on-song in the PDFL’s top tier were Holbeach United Reserves, who were 3-1 winners at Tydd.
