Moulton Harrox made a nightmare start to the new Dor-Jan Windows & Doors PDFL Premier Division season as they were thrashed 6-1 at newly-promoted FC Peterborough on Saturday.
A strike from Joe Townsend ensured they were only 2-1 down at the break against a side who finished third in Division One last year, but Kev Nottingham’s side were blown away in the second half.
There was better news for Crowland Town, who enjoyed a big 5-1 victory over Ramsey Town at Snowden Field.
Danny Firth was their hero with four goals, while Harry Grigas grabbed the other in a dominant display.
Also in the top tier, goals from Tom Coote and Fenn Storey earned Holbeach United Reserves a 2-2 homedraw with Stamford Belvedere, while Tydd lost 4-0 at champions Uppingham Town.
In Division One, Holbeach United Sports made a great start as they beat Eunice Huntingdon 5-1 thanks to goals from Martin Sandall (2), Adam Day (2) and Flynn Slater.
But relegated Long Sutton Athletic suffered a 6-0 loss at home against Peterborough City.
