PDFL round-up: First win for Spalding United A, Crowland Town smash seven

Goals from Adam Watson and Dan Gildon earned Spalding United A their-first ever ChromaSport PDFL win on Saturday.

The Tulips defeated Kings Cliffe 2-0 at Knight Street in Division Five.

In the Premier Division, Holbeach Reserves lost 3-0 at Leverington Sports, while Sutton Bridge United are out of the President Premier Shield despite Ben Partidge’s goal in a 3-1 home loss to Whittlesey Athletic.

Down in Division One, Crowland Town romped to a 7-0 success at Stanground Reserves. Tom Glindon, Dan Morris, Ash Pratt and Matt Smith were among the scorers.

Champions Moulton Harrox Reserves also beat Glinton and Northborough 5-1. Tom Elderkin and Danny Lambe-Hyner netted doubles, while John Ball also bagged.

But Long Sutton Athletic’s fine form was ended by a 6-1 home thrashing against Wittering. Tom Gosling was sent off, while Billy Oliver bagged the goal.

In the Intermediate Shield Spalding Town beat Netherton A 4-0 thanks to Jamie Cartlidge, Robbie Cundy, Sam Deykin and Ricky Dickinson, while Spalding United Reserves beat hosts Holbeach Bank 3-1 with Jordan Heeley among the scorers.
