The Cinderella pantomime which ran at the South Holland Centre in Spalding in November and December has been nominated for several awards from the UK Pantomime Association.
Ran by Peterborough-based Polka Dot Pantomimes, Cinderella welcomed more than 10,000 visitors to the South Holland Centre, making it one of the most successful pantomimes in the Centre’s history.
The pantomime has gone on to receive four nominations at the UK Pantomime Awards for:
* Best Director – Darren O’ Sullivan
* Best Lighting – Bev Paskell
* Best Ugly Sisters – Gareth Mitchell and Garnon Davies
* Best Pantomime – with a seating capacity of up to 500 seats.
* Best Lighting – Bev Paskell, technical and operations manager at the South Holland Centre.
Judges visit over 300 pantomimes throughout the UK and score each production in certain categories, with the top five being nominated for the final, held in London’s West End in April this year.
A South Holland District Council spokesman said: “This is a fantastic achievement for all those involved in the Cinderella pantomime, the whole team from the South Holland Centre worked tirelessly and their hard work has paid off with national recognition.
“We had fantastic feedback from local residents and visitors who travelled into the District to watch this pantomime, so once again well done to all for making Cinderella such a success.”
