Volunteers have the chance to forge a new path for themselves thanks to a number of vacancies at Chain Bridge Forge blacksmiths and museum.
Last week, manager Martin Bawden left the Forge to relocate and a replacement is being sought. Director Geoff Taylor said: “Martin’s been a fantastic asset to us, he’s really done a wonderful job.
“The volunteers he’s nurtured have been fantastic.”
The chance to step into these well-regarded shoes is available thanks to new forge manager roles opening up.
Other available opportunities include blacksmiths, curators, directors and visitor experience volunteers.
Geoff said of the roles: “Volunteers are the life blood of Chain Bridge Forge and without their considerable input the Forge would close as we don’t get any money towards our running costs.
“Our volunteers fulfil a number of diverse roles from directors which set the direction of the Forge and people with hands on experience and capabilities.”
As well as traditional blacksmithing and South Holland Heritage and history resource, Chain Bridge Forge is also an award-winning centre of innovation, pioneering virtual reality and 3D printing.
