Opening date for swim school

A specialist swimming facility should be open and ready to welcome new customers on July 4.

Work started on the new pool back in March and it was due to open in May but the coronavirus pandemic delayed the opening.

Now Billie’s Fins Swim School, which currently runs a school for 500 children at Eye, is getting ready to open the new pool on Enterprise Way in Pinchbeck, as soon as government guidelines allow.

The new facility includes a pool for swimming lessons, monthly swim memberships for adults and private hire for families.

Local primary schools and scuba diving clubs will also be welcome to use the facility.

Billie Whyatt, who runs the school, said: “We run lessons for children aged six months and up.

“We offer group and private lessons.

“Our group lessons are 30 minutes long, have a maximum of seven children and our teachers teach in the water and have an assistant.”

“We will be offering the same but in our new purpose built facility.

“We will also be offering a monthly membership to the public.

“Our timetable will offer early morning swims, lunch time and evening swims.

“We will also be offering private rental for families.”

Billie said having smaller groups is beneficial for learning.

“We feel that having low group numbers and teaching in the water really helps children confidence flourish.

“We make sure our lessons are filled with fun and games whilst ensuring children learn all of the four swimming strokes with a high standard of technique.”
