Could you offer a home to one of these neglected puppies?

These 14-week-old Border Collie pups are less than half the weight they should be after being neglected by their owner.

They are now in safe hands after a concerned member of the public contacted Central German Shepherd Rescue but these two, and their two sisters, are in desperate need of loving new homes.

Bev Chamberlain, who runs the local rescue branch, said: “Someone contacted us to say that four Border Collie puppies were being neglected and they were in danger of being dumped, so we asked the owner to sign them over to us.

“The dogs are about half of the weight they should be and as a result are terribly malnourished.”

CGSR usually only takes in German Shepherds or German Shepherd cross breeds but Bev said they couldn’t sit back and do nothing.

She added: “They are the loveliest little dogs and when they are well enough will make great pets.

“They all love a cuddle.

“At the moment they are being checked regularly by the vet and we have foster homes lined up to look after them until they are well enough to go to permanent homes.

“At the moment we don’t know when that will be.”

The dogs are being cared for at Highfield Kennels in Pinchbeck and are currently known as Puppy A, B, C and D.

Bev, of Quadring, said: “We decided not to give them names because the new owners would probably want to change them anyway.”

The puppies are all female, one is black and white and the other three are merle and white.

If you could offer one of these puppies a permanent home, visit www.cgsr.co.uk where you will find an adoption form and all the details you need.
