No planning permission for Spalding shop’s alterations work

A Spalding shop has made alterations to its premises without planning permission.

The town’s newest Eastern European store – International Food (formerly The Station Gates pub) in Winsover Road – was given permission by South Holland District Council to temporarily remove a wall to allow access for large freezers.

Now there is a new door and window where the wall once was.

Business owner Zagros Abdullah submitted a planning application for the alterations on July 14. Comments on the application can be made until Friday (Aug 7).

A council spokesman said: “The works are the subject of a current planning application H16-0637-15, unfortunately they have undertaken the works before the application has been determined.

“A decision will be taken in due course, however the consultation period for comments does not expire until 7 August.”
