Jack’s pride at 100th birthday telegram from The Queen

Jack ClaytonA former Moulton Seas End farmer now living in Long Sutton celebrated his 100th birthday on July 31.

Jack Clayton remembers his early days working three horses on a single line and ploughing “an acre a day” starting at 5 o’clock in the morning.
He has seen a great deal of change in agriculture and farming over his life and eventually had a red tractor to help with the workload.
Fellow residents at Bancroft Nursing Home joined Jack and his family and friends to celebrate his landmark birthday.

A staff member said: “He was very proud to receive his telegram and card from The Queen, which had been looking forward to for several weeks.”
