No change at the summit despite losses for top teams

There’s no change at the top of Division One in the Spalding and District Snooker League, despite the top two teams both losing the first match back after the Christmas break.

Pyramid C are holding on to first place, with clubmates Pyramid F in second, although both of them lost 4-2.

The C team were beaten away by fourth-placed Consti H.

Winners for Consti were Adam Mayman (o28), Jon Houldershaw (r14) and Doug Garfoot (o28).
George Neary-Phillips (o21) and Jason Green (o63) got the points for Pyramid.

The 14-point gap at the top remains though, as Pyramid F lost 4-2 at home to Services D.

Pete Hodgson-Kerry (o21) won the first frame to give Pyramid the advantage but Kevin Robbs (r14) levelled it, beating Ian Gibson (r7).

Oliver Player (o28) took the next frame for Pyramid, before Ian Smith (r7) again squared it with a win for Services.

It was all down to the decider which saw Russ Morse (scr) get the better of Mark Gray (098), winning 138-133.

Boundary A are still in third but have closed the gap to a single point with a 4-2 win over Services A.
Elliott Cox (r7), John Tidswell (o21) and Steve Smith (r21) were the winners for Boundary.

Pyramid D had a 4-2 win over Donington C thanks to victories from Reegan Cooke-Holmes (o21), Marcus Hamilton (o35) and James Sharpe (o49), who knocked in a 44 break.

Mick Pearl (o14) and Mat Turner (o28) took the final two frames to get the points for Donington.
Consti E beat Gosberton A 5-1.

Consti G moved up one place to seventh thanks to a 4-2 win over Holbeach C.

Consti took the first three frames and the win courtesy of Joe Garland (o7), Martin Deacon (o14) and Neil Grant (r7).

Nick Edwards (r14) and Mark Gregory (o35) were the winners for Holbeach.

A good 5-1 win for Services C has seen them jump up a place to eighth. They beat Holbeach D thanks to wins from Geoff Hemsil (r21), Shane Cummins (o21), Kev Fitter (o7) and Nigel Cherry (o14). Don Monk (o21) got the solitary point for Holbeach.

Holbeach B have taken the lead in Division Two following a 5-1 win over Whittlesey C.

Garry Cooke (o21), Barry Haynes (o21), Pete Mullane (o21) and Neil Harvey (o21) got the wins in that one.

Gary Thewliss (r7) got the single point for Whittlesey.

Holbeach E have dropped from the top of the table to third after a 5-1 loss to clubmates Holbeach F.

James Quinton (o14), Dan Mayfield (o28), Susan Lefley (R28) and David Lefley (R28) got the wins for the F team.
Consti F have moved up a place to third after beating Pyramid E 5-1.

A 4-2 win away to Donington A has moved Pyramid A up a place to fourth.

Jim Benner (scr) started Pyramid off well with a win over Nigel Brasier (o28) before Jean Thompson (R28) evened the scoreline.

Tony Scully (o42) put Donington in the driving seat, but wins from John Twell (o7) and Dean Cole (o7) sealed the victory for Pyramid.

Holbeach A have dropped to fifth after being beaten 4-2 away to Whittlesey A.

Wayne Dent (o49) won the first frame for Holbeach, before Jason Clarke (scr) hit back for Whittlesey.

Steve Dent (scr) put Holbeach ahead again but Malc Bruce (scr) evened the scoreline again.

It was down to Steve Jennings (o28) and Mat Smith (o28) to battle it out in the decider, with Jennings taking the spoils for Whittlesey.

A good 5-1 win for Services B over Pyramid B has moved them up a place to sixth.

Winners in that one were Jason Rose (o28), Andy Neal (scr), Alan Hansard (scr) and Jeff Collins (scr).

Phil Cooke (r7) pulled a frame back for Pyramid.

Down in the third division, Holbeach G have taken the top spot.

They beat Gosberton C 5-1, thanks to wins from Ben Harding (o42), who got a 40 break, Stu Sullivan (o28), Matt Tomblin (o7) and Ian Woodberry (scr). Stuart Henderson (scr) was the only winner for Gosberton.

Consti A have jumped three places to second after beating Whittlesey B 5-1.

Consti B, who didn’t have a game, fell from first to third, but they have two games in hand.

Gosberton B whitewashed Boundary B 6-0.

The win has moved them up to seventh.

Wins on the night came courtesy of Nigel Goodwin (r14), Simon Slinger (scr), Mark Howlett (o7), Warren Driver (r14) and Merv Pattinson (r21).

Bottom-of-the-table Donington B got a 4-2 win over friendly foe Donington D.

Consti D took on clubmates Consti J, with the J team coming out on top.

Adam Braybrook (o7), Les Andrew (r7) and Stew Davies (o7) got the points in that one.

Consti C got off the bottom of the table with a 5-1 win over Consti I.

Dave Banister (scr), Terry George (r14), Steve Crane (r7) and Kevin Sweeney (r7) got the points for the C team.
