Nigel’s high five at hospital

A Donington man who suffers with motor neurone disease has been given a special award for his years volunteering in a hospital.

Nigel Brasier was one of 32 volunteers recognised by United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) as part of National Volunteers’ Week for his work in Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital.

Nigel said: “I have made many friends over the five years I have been volunteering and I feel like a really valued member of the team.

“I would definitely recommend volunteering for ULHT, you won’t regret it.”

Andrew Morgan, chief executive, said: “We chose to present our long service awards during National Volunteers’ Week as it is such an important occasion to celebrate the amazing work our volunteers do. They make such a difference to both our patients and staff, and as such, we want to take this opportunity to thank and recognise them.”
