Mum and son delighted with Hughes TV prize as part of The Voice’s first anniversary celebrations

A mother and son are “over the moon” after winning a state-of-the-art television in a Spalding and South Holland Voice competition.

Patsy Keating and Benjamin “ummed and aahhed” about entering our first anniversary competition in conjunction with Hughes Electrical because they didn’t really believe they could win.
But Patsy, of Pinchbeck, eventually posted an entry and couldn’t believe it when Tom Gosling, manager of Hughes’ Spalding store in Sheep Market, rang to say they had won.

She said: “We filled the entry form in but then just left it sitting there for a while.
“But now I’m really pleased I got round to posting it. I have never won anything before. I don’t usually get emotional about material things but this is just amazing. It’s lovely.

“I’m just waiting for my daughter to come home from university to help me set it up.
“I just keep looking at it. It was so nice to win and the people in Hughes were really lovely.”

Hughes offered the 42in full HD Smart LED television as a prize as part of our first anniversary celebrations in April.

Tom said: “It was really nice to work with The Voice to run this competition and really good to hand over the prize to Patsy. She was very happy to win and I think she was a really worthy and deserving winner.
“When I rang her to tell her she had won it was quite emotional because she was so happy.”

Hughes has been serving customers in Spalding for two years and offers a great environment to find out about the latest products, with interactive displays and a huge range of the latest technology and kitchen appliances.
