Moulton Harrox are gearing up for a season defining Lincs FA Junior Cup semi-final with a very strong Brumby side on Saturday.
Paul Kent’s Harrox go into the Broad Lane clash (1.30pm) in fine form, having won their last five games on the bounce.
With the Moulton out of the running for trophies in the ChromaSport Peterborough League, this represents their only shot at silverware.
But Brumby, who are based in the TSW Printers Scunthorpe and District Football League, are unbeaten in the 16 games they’ve played in all competitions this season.
The winners will play either Hykeham Town or Swineshead Institute in the final.
- David Howe fired four goals and Michael Smith hit a hat-trick as Crowland Town Reserves won 8-2 at Thorney in ChromaSport Peterborough League Division Two on Saturday.
That made the Snowden Field side the big winners of the day in the league, as they climbed up to tenth in the standings.
Spalding United Reserves remain top of the table in Division Two after they prevailed 5-1 at Parkside. Jamie Cartlidge (2), Edgaras Buzas, Jake Farrell and Lee Armitage got the goals for the Tulips’ second string, who are four points clear.
Up in the Premier Division, Moulton Harrox’s fine form continued with a 4-1 triumph at Thorney. Ian Bradbury, Bobby Patterson, Joe Townsend and sub Ryan Wheeler netted to move Moulton to within two points of the top three.
Oliver Maltby was both hero and villain for Pinchbeck United, as they drew 1-1 with high-flying Netherton at Knight Street. His goal put Ian Dunn’s side 1-0 up at the break, but he was later sent off as Netherton hit back, leaving Pinchbeck in eighth place.
At the wrong end of the table, Crowland Town remain bottom after suffering a 4-0 home defeat against leaders Coates Athletic.
In the PFA Senior Cup, Holbeach United Reserves crashed out 4-0 to league high-fliers Oakham United as Lewis Leckie hit a treble.
Down in Division One, Adam Fitch’s first-half effort gave Sutton Bridge United a 1-0 home win over Wisbech Town Reserves, while Jeremy King’s effort earned Long Sutton Athletic a 1-1 draw with Netherton Reserves at London Road.
Moulton Harrox Reserves also drew 1-1, as Macauley Grimwood’s was enough to peg back Ryhall United.
Division Three side Spalding Town enjoyed an emphatic 10-2 PFA Junior Cup success over Peterborough Sports A, with Martin Sandall plundering a treble. Also on the mark for Chris Page’s side at the Castle Sports Complex were Josh McGuire (2), Andrew Williams (2), Dean Grummitt (2) and Gary Booth.
Fellow Division Three side Tydd St Mary lost 3-2 at Riverside Reserves, despite goals from Dale Parnell and Nick Reims.
Steven Davies and Danny Hunt were on target as Holbeach Bank also lost 3-2 at Eye United in Division Four, while in Division Five Robert Lewsley hit two and Ben Gibbons also notched to give Holbeach United A a 3-0 victory over Tydd Reserves.
