More misery for basement boys Spalding RFC

Spalding RFC’s tough start to life back in Midlands One East continued on Saturday as they were handed a 44-10 home reverse by fellow strugglers Huntingdon and District.

The Memorial Field defeat is Town’s fourth defeat in as many games – and they are the only side in the division who are yet to collect a point.

More worryingly for Spalding, three of those defeats have come at home.

They have a chance to rectify that next Saturday, though, as they welcome fifth-placed Ilkeston to the Memoriall Field (3pm).
