Who dumped smelly and unsightly mass of meat on side of road?

A pile of meat and bones have been dumped by the side of the road near Weston Hills.

The pile, which consists of carcasses, bones and poultry innards, was spotted at 10am on Tuesday by a local resident on Clay Lake Bank.

The meat was dumped along with butchers’ trade-style cardboard boxes.

The resident said: “The blood was fresh when I discovered it and it absolutely stinks.

“There must be about a quarter of a ton or so there.”

A spokesman for South Holland District Council said: “We are investigating this incident and will get the items cleared.

“We would like to remind residents to report incidents of fly-tipping to us on 01775 761161 or online at www.sholland.gov.uk.”
