Man who put landlord in headlock banned from pub by court

A man who grabbed a Holbeach pub landlord by the neck has been banned by magistrates from going to the pub for the next two years.

Martin Plaice, 46, of Heron Road, Wisbech had admitted assaulting John Budworth of The Crown Hotel in West End by beating when he appeared at Boston Magistrates Court.

The magistrates were told he had committed the offence on December 4 and could give no real explanation as to why he had done it.

Magistrates ordered him to undertake 100 hours of unpaid work for the community, banned him from the pub for two years and ordered him to pay a total of £280 in court costs and charges.
