Man admits sexual activity with child

A Spalding man faces a possible jail sentence after he admitted sexual activity with a child aged under 16.

Kyle Mitchell, 26, pleaded guilty to four sexual offences when he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court.

They included one charge of sexual activity with a child aged under 16 which occurred between December 1 2022 and January 31 2023.

Mitchell, of Chestnut Avenue, Spalding, also admitted two counts of possessing extreme pornographic images on November 29 2023.

He also pleaded guilty to one charge of making an indecent category C image of a child on the same date.

Defence barrister Chris Jeyes asked for sentence to be adjourned for a pre-sentence probation report to be prepared on Mitchell.

Recorder Simon King agreed to the request but warned Mitchell that “all options” would be available to the sentencing judge, including immediate custody.

Mitchell was granted bail on conditions that he does not contact the victim or have any unsupervised contact with a child aged under-18.

He will be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on March 27 and must also now comply with the interim notification requirements of the Sex Offenders Register.
