Maiden title for Boston League team at third annual Spalding and South Holland Voice Cup

There was a new name on The Spalding and South Holland Voice Spalding Table Tennis Invitation Cup after Boston pipped two Spalding sides to the annual title.

The trio of Brett Heppenstall, Alan Ashberry and Artiom Mann took the title at the Castle Sports Complex in what was the third running of the competition.

Spalding A, featuring John Gilbert, Reece Kerry and Stuart Dufill, finished as runners-up, with Gary Wilkinson, Hanna Gilbert. and Joe Beadle (Spalding B) taking third.

This was the first time that a team from the Boston League has won the event, which was held to mirror the Rio Olympics men’s team title.
