Michael McGowan helped himself to a sensational seven-goal haul to inspire Pinchbeck United under-16s to an 8-2 victory over Hungate under-16s.
Pinchbeck made the trip knowing that they needed a victory to keep the pressure on in the title race.
Pinchbeck started the livelier of the two sides and were rewarded with the first of McGowan’s goals after ten minutes.
The man-of-the-match then added five more goals to his tally before half time to wrap up his double hat-trick and put his side 6-0 to the good.
Pinchbeck’s defensive line held strong and limited Hungate to long range shots, but in the second half the hosts showed a bit more resistance.
However, McGowan soon added another to take his tally to seven.
Hungate eventually succeeded in breaking through the defence to get a goal back, before Luca Ward struck with Pinchbeck’s eighth.
The home side managed to get one more consolation goal but the result was never in doubt.
