Lions pause for recognition

Spalding Lions had a ball as they celebrated 54 years of helping good causes in the town.

The 54th Charter Anniversary at the Woodlands Hotel saw first vice district governor Ian Constable and regional chair Derek Blow among those in attendance.

There was also a presentation to Frances Paget, who was given the highest possible accolade for a Lion, the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award.

A spokesman for the Spalding branch of the Lions said: “A fantastic evening celebrating was had by all.”
