LETTERS – Why weren’t we invited?

I worked as a police officer at Holbeach Police Station for 12 years and found out recently that there had been an opening ceremony for the new police station.

Why didn’t anyone consider inviting the officers and staff who used to work there?

When you retire or move away you are just forgotten.

Retirement is a big change in your life and being ignored like this can be very upsetting.

Recently the chief constable of a neighbouring county took his own life only two weeks into his retirement.

Perhaps someone in Lincolnshire police would like to respond.
