LETTERS – Thank you to generous shoppers

I write to pass on the thanks of Spalding & District Branch of the RNLI to Morrisons shoppers who generously donated a total of £801 to the charity on September 14 and 15.

Such donations are vital to maintain the rescue services of the RNLI.

Despite 95 per cent of RNLI personnel being volunteers, funds are always needed to run and maintain the fleet of lifeboats that are ready to launch 24 hours a day every day of the year.

If any of your readers want to learn more about the work of the RNLI, I recommend they watch “Saving Lives at Sea” on the BBC on Tuesday nights.

I would like to extend our thanks to the manager and staff of Morrisons for their help and support.

Peter Warren
RNLI Hon Treasurer Spalding Branch
