I’m sure that many of us will have heard the expressions “that’s karma” and also “they’ll get their comeuppance”, but has anyone actually witnessed this first-hand?
I can now truly claim to have done so.
The other day, I was walking along a street in Spalding when I observed a council civil enforcement officer (traffic warden) issuing tickets to wrongly/illegally parked vehicles.
As I carried along the road, a male was getting out of his car having parked where he shouldn’t have and would clearly end up with a ticket.
I attempted to warn him, but only got as far as saying “I wouldn’t park there mate because” when an aggressive, vitriolic tirade of abuse came back at me telling me to mind my own business.
Okay, I thought, having lived in the area long enough to have become accustomed to the, shall we put it politely and say, quaint and unsophisticated speech of the indigenous peoples of the south Lincolnshire Fens.
This male took off and I carried on about my business.
When, about 20 minutes later, I returned back along the route that I had come, lo and behold his vehicle had a ticket.
So, to this individual I say, enjoy your PCN, I was trying to help and advise you.
True Karma indeed.
