LETTERS – Doctors’ system is a disgrace

I understand doctors’ surgeries have had to be careful regarding COVID but come on.
The absolute disgrace that is now a telephone system, not to make an appointment to see a doctor but for them to telephone you. My surgery is a joke.
You have to be with fingers poised on the phone before 7.58am. Then once you get through, you are usually something like 21st in the queue to speak to the receptionist.
So you wait, a minimum of 30 minutes and when you finally speak to the receptionist, you are told all the appointments for that day are now gone and you must go through the whole farce the following day.
I repeat, this is not to see a doctor, purely to speak to one on the phone.
Seems like COVID has been a godsend to the workshy.
